Freddy Alston Obituary

Freddy Joseph Alston, died on January 12, 2020 at Conway Medical Center, Conway, SC. Funeral services were held on January 18, 2020 at Greater Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church, Rev. Aundry N. Evans, Sr., pastor.

Mr. Alston was born on September 27, 1956 to the union of Mr. Franklin Alston, Sr. and Mrs. Annabelle Goff Alston. He graduated from Howard High School in 1974. On July 10, 1980, Freddy was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Ms. Gail Bethea. They were blessed with one son. During his early adult life, Freddy joined Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he remained a faithful member. His work principles began at an early age at Back Porch Restaurant. Later, he assumed the trade of carpentry and worked with several contractors before becoming partners with Singleton-Alston-Russell Builders. For the past eight years, he worked for the Georgetown County School District at Waccamaw High School in the Maintenance Department.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Alston, Murrells Inlet, SC; his son, Desmond Omar Alston, Murrells Inlet, SC; one grandson, Dymer Myers, Murrells Inlet, SC; his siblings, Cecil Alston, Sr., Levi Alston, Eva Greene, and Betty Beaty, all of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Lillie Belle Stewart of Manhattan, NY. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

Mrs Alston, I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Freddys smile and energy is greatly missed in the halls of Waccamaw High School. He was always so kind to my son. Praying you find peace soon.
