Frankie Williams Obituary

Frankie Hickman Williams, 75, died on Monday June 11, 2018 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. Funeral services were held on June 18, 2018 at Greater St. Stephen A.M.E.Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Carl L. Anderson, pastor.

Mrs. Williams was born on June 6, 1943 in Bayboro, North Carolina, the daughter of Stella Bellamy and Duncan Hickman. Subsequent to graduating from Howard High School in 1962 she found gainful employment and over the years was a valued employee at many stores including Peebles (now Goody's) of Georgetown. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ and joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, Conway, SC. On January 24, 1965, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Rev. Benny Larry Williams and their union was blessed with the births and rearing of four children. When her husband received the call to the ministry in 1969, she supported him in his work and endeavored to set a good example in her role as first lady. They worked and worshiped together at Nazareth A.M.E. Church (Sutton Community), St. Mary A.M.E. Church, Pawleys Island, SC, Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church, Murrells Inlet, SC and Greater St. Mark A.M.E. Church, Hemingway, SC.

Surviving are her children, Benny L. Williams II, Derrick D. Williams, Sean K. Williams, and Sonia Deniece Williams all of Georgetown, SC; granddaughter: Bennay Laurie Holmes; one brother: Leon Bellamy, Georgetown, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
