Francis Britton Obituary

Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Mr. Francis Britton, age 85, of 1416 Lanes Creek Drive in the Lane's Creek community of Georgetown, who died on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Tidelands Health Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown. Mr. Britton is the son of the late Frank Britton and the late Lilly Miller Britton both of the Lanes Creek community of Georgetown. Mr. Britton was the husband of the late Eliza Jane Britton of the Lanes Creek community.

Mr. Britton is preceded in death by his loving wife; three sisters - Florence White, Maude Britton and Carlene; two brothers - Jessie Britton and Boyd Britton; and one granddaughter little Justice Edwards.

Funeral services for Mr. Britton were held on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church at 7275 Browns Ferry Road in the Browns Ferry community of Georgetown where the Rev. Justin Gamble, pastor officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The remains laid in state in the sanctuary of the church from noon until the hour of service. A viewing was held on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emanuel St., Georgetown.

Survivors include his loving family: six daughters - Edna Orange of the Oatland community, Sandra Linen of the Dunbar community, Tiffany Coakley of the Knox Swamp community, Sharon Edwards, Carol Britton, Lenora Britton all of the Lanes Creek community of Georgetown; three sons - Jerome Britton, Marvin Britton and Ranado Britton all of the Lanes Creek community; one sister Sadie Adams of North Carolina; one brother Steven Britton; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty great grand children; and a host of loving sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; nieces; nephews; and many relatives and friends.
