Frances Eulene Fowler Avant, 76, beloved wife of Harvey I. Avant, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Roper Hospice Cottage.
Mrs. Avant was born the daughter of Kinoth Fowler and Jeannette Graham Fowler on November 27, 1944 in Horry County. She was born the 3rd of eight children, Charles, Pearl, Ruthene (twin sister), Eston, Gail, Roger, and Wayne. She was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the Children's Ministry, president of the Hospitality Committee, Women's ministry, Sunday School member, and VBS. She considered herself a "softball mom" and actively supported rec softball teams, the Grits softball teams, and the Georgetown Bulldogs softball teams. Her greatest honor and enjoyment was being a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, a caring sister, and loyal friend.
Eulene and Harvey was married on October 12, 1965 and celebrated 55 years together. Their home was blessed with: three children, Harve Avant (Lisa), Jennifer A. Blakely (Andy), and Ken Avant; seven grandchildren, Will, Dorothy, Drew, Kendal, AnLee, Lydia, and Evie; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by: her mother, Jeannette; her siblings, Gail Nealy (Jimmy) and Roger Fowler (Jean); and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Fowler.
She was predeceased by: her father, Kinoth; a daughter-in-law, Ashley Avant; her siblings, Charles Fowler, Pearl Joye (Norris), Ruthene Fowler, Eston Fowler, and Wayne Fowler.
A Home Going Celebration will be 5PM, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1797 Brick Chimney Road, Georgetown. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Murray. Interment directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The Avant family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 3:30 to 4:30PM in the church sanctuary.
