Eric Briggs Obituary

Eric Briggs, 41, beloved son of Patricia J. Davenport, departed this life, Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Briggs was born December 10, 1977 in Elmira, NY. He was a jack-of-all-trades who worked as an auto mechanic, construction worker, and an Internet entrepreneur. Eric lived life with a passion for people and an avid interest in learning new things. He had a large network of friends that he enjoyed having conversation with and sharing information and ideas. He was a best friend to so many and was always willing to tell others about Jesus. Eric adored his Grandmother and a day never passed that he didn't see and spend time talking with her, even though she no longer knew who he was due to advanced Alzheimer's Disease. His constant companions were his three dogs that he enjoyed dearly.

He leaves behind: his mother; a brother, William Davenport; a sister, Natahlie (Donnette) McNair; his grandmother, Clara Laughlin; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by: his father, John Davenport; and his grandfather, Olin Joseph Laughlin.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, 11407 Gapway Road, Andrews, SC.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Davenport Family.

Eric and I were in each other's lives for about 10 years. And from the moment we met it was like a fire had been egnited. We meant way more to each other than we let the other know until it was too late. But we both know and felt what we were to each other. I'm so sorry that we couldn't be in each other's lives at the time of his passing. And because of that I didn't find out about it until he had been gone for a few months. Such an intense and passionate person he was. Every word he spoke was with conviction. I only wish he would of let as much love in his life as he wanted to give. I think of him often, always. Free time, late at night, before work, when I hear a song that reminds me of times, always! I know it's late but better than never. I love you and I have always loved you. You may be gone from here but not from my heart or thoughts and I am sure many others. I hope you finally have rest. I'll miss you forever. Heart broken
