Eloise Magbee Obituary

Eloise Evangeline Magbee, 92, of Beaufort, SC, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. Mrs. Magbee was born in Great Falls, SC on January 8, 1933, to Prince Woodrow Coleman Carter and Macie Louise Broome Carter. She was a loving daughter, sister and cousin to her large extended family and was always the "sweetest and kindest of the bunch!" She attended Bob Jones University in the early 50's and as a devout Baptist she loved her time at this college. She received her teaching degree from the University of South Carolina and began her teaching career. In the summer of 1955, she met her husband, Emory Magbee, while they were both counselors at Burnt Gin Summer Camp for disabled children. They bonded quickly over their love for helping children and their love for serving God. They were wed on June 30, 1962 and were married for 60 years until Mr. Magbee's death in 2022. Upon moving to Beaufort, Mrs. Magbee taught at Mossy Oaks Elementary from 1962-1965 until she became a mother, her greatest passion! She took a ten-year break from being a school teacher to raise her two beloved sons, Jarret and David. She then taught at Shell Point Elementary until she retired. Mrs. Magbee was the best teacher, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother ever. She maintained "the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4) until she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Survivors include her two sons; her oldest son, Jarret, and his wife Melissa, have seven of her grandchildren: Turner(Arianna), Gigi(Gabe), Oakley(Joshua), Talmadge, Hammond, Beckham and Macie Ruth; her second son, David, and his wife Cindy, have three of her grandchildren: Cole(Mercedes), Amber(Joey) and Shana. She had ten great-grandchildren:Tristan, Aria, Kai, Sean Alex, Liam, Gabriel, Willow, Merritt and the youngest being her namesake, Piper Eloise!
