Anna Gibson Obituary

Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the Funeral Services for Miss Anna Jane Gibson, age 66, of Bronx, New York, formally of the Dunbar Community, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at her residence in Bronx, New York. Miss Gibson was the daughter of the late James and Rosa Bell (Giles) Gibson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a special niece, Dorthena Gibson Wigfall. She was a 1969 graduate of Choppee High School.

Funeral services for Miss Gibson will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at 2 p.m., Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in the Dunbar Community of Georgetown with the Rev. Eddie Gamble Jr., Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the Church from noon until the hour of service. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emanuel St.

Miss Gibson is survived by her loving family: six sisters, Evelyn Geathers, Carrie Ford and Vergie Greene all of Georgetown, S.C., Elnora Holmes of Baltimore, Md., Ethel Gibson of Bronx, New York and Jannie Ferrell of Temple Hill, Md., three brothers, Alex Gibson, Thomas Gibson and James (Jimmy) Gibson all of Georgetown; and a host of other family and friends.
