Elizabeth Powell-McElveen Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Player Powell-McElveen, 54, a beloved mother and the wife of Bruce P. McElveen, departed this life, Thursday morning, September 14, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Powell-McElveen was born the daughter of Daniel Player, Sr. and Peggy Emory Player on June 19, 1963 in Frankfurt, Germany. She attended Earles Pentecostal Holiness Church and helped maintain the golf course at Cherry Hill Country Club for several years.

She leaves behind: her husband; a son, Cody Steven (Wendy Martinez) Powell; loved like a son, Westley Hodge; a granddaughter, Allison Grace Powell; a brother, Daniel C. Player, Jr.; a sister, Laura Player; and her extended family including her mother-in-law, Inez M. McElveen.

She was predeceased by: her parents; her first husband, Steven Powell; and a brother, Robert Player.

A Home Going Celebration will be 4PM, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Earles Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be Rev. Allen Ard. Internment will follow in the church cemetery directed by McKenzie Funeral Home.

The Powell-McElveen family will receive family and friends 6-8PM, Saturday evening, September 16, 2017 at the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
