Elijah Washington Obituary

The Reverend Dr. Elijah Washington 83, of Lady's Island and husband of Joyce Brown Washington, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Bethesda Christian Fellowship, 36 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., St. Helena Island, SC 29920. Burial will be on Monday, August 25, 2025, in the Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors. I n lieu of Flowers the Family asks that contributions be made in his memory to the Grand Army Hall, PO Box 1961, Beaufort, SC 29901 or to First African Baptist Church, 109 Olde Church Road, St. Helena Island, SC 29920. The Family is not accepting visitors at their home at this time. They asks that you keep them in prayer as they prepare to celebrate the life of their beloved Dr. Washington.
