Edward Norris Obituary

Edward Dwaine "Ed" Norris, 73, husband of Nancy Smith Norris, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Manor in Charleston.

Born on May 16, 1944, in Columbus County, NC, he was a son of the late Earl Norris and the late Gertha Norris Norris. Mr. Norris was a member of First Baptist Church and owner of Norris Builders. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era and was a Mason, Scottish Right and Shriner. Mr. Norris enjoyed fishing, participating in Civil War reenactments and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed spending time at the mountain cabin and on the family farm.

Survivors include his wife of Murrells Inlet; one son, Shannon Norris of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Barbara Norris Hunt (Tony) of Laurinburg, NC; a sister in law, Judy Norris of Georgetown; and special friends, Henry Radcliffe (Paulette) and Ronnie Ray.

He was preceded in death by a son, Shawn E. Norris; one brother, Adolph "Dock" Norris; and one sister, Hazel Norris.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 12, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home and other times at the home of Henry Radcliffe, 503 McDonald Rd. Georgetown, SC 29440

Memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
