Earnestine Dones Obituary

Mrs. Earnestine Ward Dones, 84, died on November 15, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services were held November 22, 2017 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where Reverend Dr. Betty Deas Clark is pastor.

Mrs. Dones was born on April 12, 1933 in Georgetown, SC, to the marital union between Mr. John Ward and Mrs. Cecil Woodberry Ward. She was educated in Georgetown County. and was a dedicated member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she served actively as a member of many areas including: Willing Workers, and Stewardess Board No. 1.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Benjamin Dones (now deceased). This union was blessed with six children. For over forty years, she worked for Dr. Robert O. Jones as his children's caretaker. She also retired from the Georgetown County School System after many years of dedicated service.

Surviving are her children: Benjamin Ward of England, Norma D. Mitchell, Alvester Dones, and Patricia Dones, all of Georgetown, SC; an adopted daughter, Yvette Y. Middleton, Georgetown, SC; a granddaughter reared as a daughter, Natasha Dones, Georgetown, SC; her siblings, John Ward, Sumter, SC, Charles Ward, Philadelphia, PA, Helen Collins and Sarah Johnson both of Myrtle Beach, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
