Dwan Vanderhost Obituary

Overseer Prophet Dwan "Dwayne" Vanderhost, 47, pastor of Liberty Temple Christian Fellowship Church, Plantersville community, Georgetown, SC, died on October 3, 2016 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Lighthouse of Jesus Christ.

Prophet Vanderhost was born on June 14, 1969 in New Haven, CT to Mr. Roscoe E. Vanderhost and Mrs. Annie Pearl Green Vanderhost. He graduated from Choppee High School in 1988, and later earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Management from Morris College, Sumter, SC. He accepted his calling into the ministry in 1994 and was an active member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Plantersville.

On December 23, 1995, he was united in marriage to the former Ms. Mary A. Custis. In 1997, the couple joined Love Chapel Deliverance Center, where he began working diligently as a young minister and was an armor bearer to Pastor Richard A. Frasier. He was Chairman of the Trustee Board and served in various capacities. He later became the National Adjutant for Deliverance Centers Incorporated Ministry. For several years, he was employed with Island Chrysler, Pawleys Island, SC. In 2005, Prophet Vanderhost was asked to assist at Liberty Temple Church, later becoming their pastor. He was highly respected and loved by many.

Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Vanderhost, Hemingway, SC; his daughters, Bre'Anna Vanderhost, Ah'Lanea Vanderhost, Christian Vanderhost and Arianna Vanderhost; his parents, Roscoe Vanderhost and Annie Pearl Vanderhost, Georgetown, SC; his siblings, Russell Vanderhost, Charleston, SC and Shelinda Vanderhost, Georgetown, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
