Deloris Janet Singleton Greene died on April 26, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. Graveside services were held on May 1, 2020 at Greater Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Rev. Aundry N. Evans, Sr., pastor. Mrs. Greene was born on August 29, 1946 to Leana Keith Singleton and James Singleton in Murrells Inlet, SC. She was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County. On August 21, 1967, Deloris was joined into Holy Matrimony to Douglas Greene, Sr. Their union was blessed with five children. She worked for thirty-seven years at Waccamaw EOC (Economic Opportunity Council, Incorporated’s) Head Start until retirement. Deloris joined in Christian Fellowship with the Lord at an early age. She was devoted member of Greater Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church. Surviving are her children,Rhetta Jean Greene, Gregory Greene (Shundell), and Douglas Greene, Jr., all of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Etta Greene Carter (Larry), Loris, SC; four sisters: Betty Jo Holmes, Myrtle Beach, SC, Emma “Orilee” Loadholt, Mary Lena Crittendon (James), and Alphateen Johnson all of Murrells Inlet, SC; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
