Delores Hood Obituary

Delores Agnes Hood died on December 1, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Georgetown, SC. Memorial services will be held on 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert McArthur, pastor of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Windblow, NC.

Ms. Hood was born on August 20, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA to Mr. Homer G. Hood and Mrs. Emma Parker Hood. Her parents, and a brother, Edward G. Hood, all preceded her in death. She was educated in the Allegheny County Public School System, where she graduated from Westinghouse High School. For several years Delores lived in Newark, NJ. There, she was employed as a security guard with PSE/G (Public Service Electric and Gas) Corporation. After relocating to Pawleys Island, SC, Delores gained employment with an area Scotchman Convenience Store as a cashier. Delores was an awesome bowler. Her skill commenced her traveling to many parts of the world.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann Hood McCain (Thomas), Aberdeen, NC; her grandchildren, Sherita A. Hood, Danville, VA, Dakoriya C. Coleman, Charlotte, NC, and Leroy Coleman IV, West End, NC; one great-grandchild, Tyliek Betts, Danville, VA; a niece, Michelle D. Hood, Covington, KY. Memorial services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
