Craig Nagel Obituary

Craig Nagel, a man full of life, laughter, and generosity, was always ready to lend a hand or share a good time. Craig was born in Chicago on January 26, 1949, to Elaine and Robert Nagel. He graduated from Griffith High School in 1968 and went on to study Aviation Mechanics at Lewis College. Craig was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished life and his small hometown of Griffith, Indiana, where he spent most of his years and proudly owned Nagel Lift Truck. A lifelong sportsman, Craig had a deep love for baseball-especially the Chicago White Sox-and football, always cheering on the Chicago Bears. In his later years, Craig and his wife, Marianne, relocated to Bluffton, South Carolina, where he once again found community and joy. He quickly made new friends and embraced his surroundings. He enjoyed his classic cars, golfing with friends, maintaining a spotless garage, cruising around town on his golf cart, and working in his yard. But above all, he loved visits from family and friends. Craig had a magnetic personality-his gleaming eyes, warm smile, and easygoing nature instantly drew people in. His loyalty and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Glenn Nagel. He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Nagel; sisters Karen (Dan) Gribble and Gayle (Joe) Rogers; his daughters, Marcy Kirby, Lori (Adam) Massa, and Theresa Nagel; beloved grandchildren; and his best four legged friend, Daphne. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC with inurnment in Lowcountry Memorial Gardens following the service. Coolly
A friendship that expanded over the 60+ years after I first met you and Glenn in the 5th grade. The three of us created many wonderful moments - some good and some questionable but all memories that bring a smile to my face. So until all three of us are together again I will consider myself very blessed to have called you and Glenn my friends.
