Connie Jo Cox Lambert, 71, beloved mother and the wife of Larry Luther Lambert, Jr., went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Lambert was born the daughter of Willie Benjamin Cox and Lizzie Mae Alford Cox on February 10, 1950 of Warsaw. She was a 1969 graduate of Williamsburg High School. After graduation, she began working at Oneita Knitting Mills where she met her husband, Larry. Upon leaving Oneita, she became the owner and operator of H&S Dry Cleaners, Creative Apparel of Andrews, and Hebron Apparel, for many years.
Her contagious joy brought a smile to all whose paths she crossed. She enjoyed doing for others and giving to the community. One of her favorite traditions was to give out hams, turkeys, and fruit to the elderly and shut-ins in her community every Christmas. Her greatest joy in life was being a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother/ great-grandmother, caring sister, and a loyal friend. She served the Lord faithfully throughout her life and never lost faith in the promises of God. Despite health issues and trials, she stood steadfast in her devotion to the Lord and served Him with a joyful heart and spirit. She loved gospel music, and enjoyed going to the Gospel Filling Station to fellowship with others. She also loved reading her Bible, being with her family, and planting flowers. Her life was lived according to Proverbs 31, "Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades. The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-GOD. Give her everything she deserves! Adorn her life with praises!"
Connie married the love of her life, Larry, in 1969 and they celebrated 51 years of love and happiness. Their home was blessed with: a daughter, Michelle Lambert McKenzie of Lamberttown; a son, Luther Lambert (Debbie) of Andrews; six grandchildren, Hunter (Gwendolyn) Lambert, Joshua (Jamie) Lambert, Brianna Lambert and Alexander McKenzie; and three great-grandchildren, Adalynn Lambert, Amelia Lambert and Everleigh Lambert.
She is also survived by: her siblings, Shirley Strickland (Genair), Ronnie Cox, Elbert Cox (Diane) and EW Cox(Tiera); and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered, missed and loved by her friends and family and all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents and three brothers, Benjie Cox, Danny Cox and Earl Cox.
