Clarence Edge Obituary

Clarence Edge, Jr., 67, died on January 28, 2017 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday February 11, 2017 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Mr. Edge was born on February 25, 1949 in Wilmington, NC, a son of Mr. Clarence Edge, Sr. and Mrs. Albertha Nesbit Edge. He grew up in Georgetown, SC and attended Howard High School where he excelled in playing football. Sometime, subsequent to high school graduation, he served in the military, earning an honorable discharge from the United States Navy. Years later, he worked with Caterpillar (CAT) Incorporated in the construction industry.

His marriage to Ms. Barbara J. Butler (now deceased), was blessed with two children. Following his marriage to Ms. Sheila Dixon, he became the father of two additional daughters.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sheila Dixon Edge; his children, Clarence Edge III, Newport News, VA, Ms. Erica R. Edge, Yorktown, VA, Ms. Quanda Gibson and Ms. Shawndricka Martin both of Florida. Funeral services are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
