Cecelia Crosara Obituary

Cecelia Ann Marie (Gomez) Crosara, 62, passed away in the early hours of August 25, 2025, surrounded by family and joining her soul dog, Mulligan, in heaven. She left behind a legacy of love, devotion, and joy that will forever be carried in the hearts of her family. Born on August 27, 1962, in Astoria, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Basil Gomez Jr. and Cecelia (Greenstein) Gomez, who survive her. Cecelia grew up spending her summers at her favorite place, Malibu Dude Ranch, where she developed a deep love for horses that continued throughout her life. She graduated from Mineola High School in 1980 and furthered her education at Nassau County Community College, where she received her associate's degree in Liberal Arts. Cecelia met the love of her life, Eugene Crosara, in 1985 at a Chemical Bank Christmas party, where she brushed him off, leaving him without a dance partner. A few weeks later, he saw her across the bar at happy hour and said, "Hello, B****," which she protested as she chased him out the door. Following a brief discussion, the happy couple went on to marry on November 6, 1987. Together they created the life they dreamed of and raised three beautiful children. Despite dedicating many years to raising her children, she continued to pursue a successful career, most recently as Associate Director of Customer Support - Pet Technology at Merck Animal Health. Cecelia was passionate about animals and devoted her free time to volunteering at animal shelters, especially on the holidays when the whole family could join her. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Crosara; their children, Samantha (Robert) Lane, Nicolette (William) Crosara, and Jonathan (Taylor) Crosara; her grandchildren, Penelope Lane and Isabella Crosara; her parents, Basil Gomez Jr. and Cecelia Gomez; her sister, Danielle (Christian) Rehman; her nephews, Nicholas and Austin; and her niece, Haleigh. She built a life full of warmth, laughter, and simple joys. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones: hosting family gatherings; shopping for new decor for her home; finding the best local Italian restaurant or chicken cutlet (and making it well known if it didn't meet her expectations); and ending her nights curled up on the couch with her dogs and husband, with her plain yogurt with peanut butter in hand. Cecelia will be best remembered for loving the simple things in life: family, faith, and a cold bottle of Coors Light or a glass of wine. Those who knew her will remember her as tenacious, caring, and fiercely protective of her loved ones. Her love and presence will be felt for generations. In lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting donations to be gifted to an animal shelter in her name. Please send donations to the Venmo account @Cecelia-Crosara A celebration of life will be held on September 20, 2025, at her home, so she can do her favorite thing by hosting her friends and family one last time. Visitation will begin at 12:00. If you wish to join us, please contact Danielle Rehman by text message at 908-705-4483 for further details.
