Catherine Gamble Obituary

Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Ford Gamble, age 76, of 169 Franklin Loop in the Oatland community, of Georgetown who died on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC. Mrs. Gamble was the daughter of the late Frank George Ford and the late Hannah Buck Ford, both of the Plantersville community. Mrs. Gamble was the wife of Curtis Gamble of the Oatland community of Georgetown. Mrs. Gamble is preceded in death by both parents; one adopted daughter; three sisters, the late Edna Harvey, Ruth Joyner and Ernestine McNeil; and two brothers, the late Frank George Ford Jr. and Ivory Ford.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gamble will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Browns Ferry section of Georgetown where the Rev. Justin Gamble is pastor and will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emanuel St. in Georgetown.

Mrs. Gamble is survived by her loving family: husband, Curtis Gamble of the Oatland community of Georgetown; one son, Cornell A. Gamble of Georgetown; and four adopted sons; four sisters, Geneva Alston, Mary Lou Milton, both of the Plantersville community of Georgetown, Ada Greene of New Haven, CT and Ethel Hughie of Hemingway; two brothers, Joseph Ford of Frederick, MD and John Arthur Ford of the Plantersville community of Georgetown; a host of loving grandchildren; great grands; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and many other relatives and friends. Family and friends may call or visit the home at 843-546-4387 on 169 Franklin Loop in the Oatland community of Georgetown.
