Carol Drumm Obituary

Carol D Gray Drumm, 87 of Beaufort, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at her residence. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM. Chapel Services will begin at 1:00 PM with a Burial and Graveside Service in Forest Lawn Cemetery following. Carol was born on February 7, 1938, in Blackville, SC, the daughter of the late Alymer Gordon Sr. and Evelyn (Morris) Gray. She graduated from Beaufort High School in 1956 and married the late James Polk. She later married Curtis D. Drumm in December 1978 while he was stationed in Hawaii. They later moved to the Atlanta GA area where they lived for 21 years. They returned to South Carolina in 2002 to Summerville and then back to her home in Beaufort in 2022. She and Curt settled into the home that belonged to her parents and enjoyed updating the house and yard. Carol loved watching the birds and caring for the plants in the yard. She enjoyed her visits with Grands and Great - Grands and feeding them their favorite dishes and porch sitting to keep up with goings on in the neighborhood. Survivors include: her husband of 46 years, Curtis Drumm, daughters: Lynn Polk Davidson (Larry), and Carol Polk Johnson, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. She is predeceased by: her parents, her brother: A Gordon Gray, Jr, and daughters: Julie Polk Connelly, and Kimberly D. Polk.
