Betty Duncan Obituary

Betty Cantrell Duncan, 75, the widow of James Earl Duncan, departed this life to be home with her Lord and waiting family and friends on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Roper Berkeley Hospital.

Mrs. Duncan was born a daughter of Arnold Mark Cantrell and Willie Mae Thomas Cantrell on January 14, 1943, in Chatsworth, GA. She was a 1961 graduate of Murray County High School and attended nursing school until she joined the United States Army. As a Untied States Army Veteran, Betty served as a switch board operator. She was retired from the Georgetown County School District where she worked as the Manager of the of the Andrews High School Cafeteria. She was an active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Wonderful Wednesdays, Sunshine Kids, and Bible studies. Betty Cantrell Duncan - a Christian servant, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother - bestows upon all a legacy of a Shepherd's Heart and the fulfilling of Psalm 119:11, "Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee"

Ms. Duncan leaves behind: two daughters, Beth (Ricky) Poston and Jade (Neil) Cantey; four grandchildren, Kyle Newton, Madison Cantey, Brock Cantey, Richie (Kateland) Poston; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Kylie

A Home Going Celebration with Military Honors will be 3PM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial directed by McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.

The Duncan family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 1PM - 2:30PM in the church sanctuary.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Duncan family.
