Bess Baldwin Obituary

Bess B. Baldwin, 74, wife of Maurice Dargan "Doc" Baldwin Jr., passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Vibra Hospital in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

She was born in Himyar, Kentucky on May 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Curtis Baker and late Pearl Gray.

Mrs. Baldwin and her husband were the former owners of the 3-way Exxon station in Pawleys Island as well as Owner/Operators of Electronics Etc. for over 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge and received the Shining Star Award in recognition of her charity work. Mrs. Baldwin was a former Exalted Ruler of Georgetown and Pawleys Elks Lodge and loved spending time with her friends and family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 50 years, are; two sons, Maurice Dargan Baldwin III and Oliver Gore Baldwin, both of Pawleys Island; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Baldwin and Maurice Dargan Baldwin IV; two brothers, Ronny Gray of Waxahachie, Texas and Dale Gray of Dallas, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 North Fraser Street Georgetown, SC 29440.
