Mr. Benjamin Travis Grate died on March 24, 2019 at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Funeral services were held on April 1, 2019 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Jerome Smalls, Pastor.

Mr. Grate was born on August 29, 1981 in Georgetown, SC, to Mr. Benjamin Grate, Sr. and Mrs. Donna Mae Smith Grate (now deceased). He was educated in the Georgetown County Public School System, and graduated from Waccamaw High School. Since early youth, Mr. Grate was active in his community, lending a helping hand where needed, often looking after his nieces and nephews. For several years, he was employed with Frank's Outback Restaurant, Pawleys Island.

Surviving are his daughter, Katoria Grate, Palm Beach, FL; his father, Mr. Benjamin Grate, Pawleys Island, SC; sisters, Nicole Smith, Pawleys Island, SC, Christena Williams, Latoshia Brady, Dietrick Smith, Myrtle Beach, SC, Kissie Smith, Sandy Island, SC, Arela Grate, Lionel Grate, Conway, SC. Funeral services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home.
