Arlene Erbacher Obituary

Arlene A. Erbacher, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Born October 24, 1934 to Louise and Edward Zorrer, Arlene grew up in Glendale, Queens, New York and graduated from Richmond Hill High School, where she loved being a cheerleader and hated algebra class.

In 1955, Arlene married her high school sweetheart, Herman Erbacher. They later moved to Nesconset, Long Island, New York, where they raised their family. During this time, Arlene gained a reputation as a fabulous cook, whipping up German specialties at the stove in her high heels. She and Herman enjoyed travel and a lively social life throughout their many years of marriage, especially with their high school friends, dubbed the "Old Timers" group.

In 2004, Arlene and Herman moved to Sun City to be closer to their children. They enjoyed the senior lifestyle and the many activities offered by the Del Webb community. Arlene especially looked forward to playing Bridge and, later on, Mexican Train Dominos and Book Club with her lady friends.

Arlene is survived by her devoted husband of seventy years, Herman, and children, Darlayne Glesias and Kurt Erbacher (Catherine). She was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Lane, and son-in-law, Rick Glesias.

Arlene cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as can be witnessed at the extensive photo shrine in the family home.

We honor her wishes here by posting her favorite photo, taken many years ago on her confirmation day.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
