Mary Snell Obituary

Mary A. Snell, age 89 of DuBois, PA died Monday, January 6, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born on June 26, 1935 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Mary (Yakulis) Kolash, Sr.

Mary was a graduate of the DuBois Area High School and was a lifelong resident of DuBois, PA.

She was married to Norbert B. Snell. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2014.

Mary was a homemaker. She had worked at B.F. Goodrich, and was a babysitter in our area for many years.

She enjoyed going for long walks, doing jigsaw puzzles, ceramics, sewing, baking and flower gardening.

Mary is survived by one daughter (Rose Freemer and her husband Bob of Brockway, PA), four sons (David Snell and his wife Mary Ann of Summerville, SC, Kevin Snell and his wife Diane of Brockway, PA, Thomas Snell and his wife Paula of Reynoldsville, PA and Douglas Snell and his wife Liz Abegail of DuBois, PA), sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mary was preceded in death by two brothers (Joseph and John "Jack" Kolash), and two sisters (Helen Bentley and Virginia Ketter).

There will be no public visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10 AM from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Father John Malthaner and Msgr. Richard Siefer as con-celebrants.

Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
