Yung Ja "Judy" Prevatte, 84, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026.

Judy was born on November 5, 1941, in Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. She carried with her a strong spirit, deep resilience, and a quiet kindness that touched the lives of those around her. Later in life, she made her home in Columbia, South Carolina, where she built a life centered on family and love.

Judy dedicated many years of service working at the NCO Club, where she was known for her hard work and warm presence before retiring. Outside of her career, she found great joy in gardening, cooking, fishing, and playing bingo. She often expressed her love through the meals she prepared, the care she gave to her garden, the peaceful moments she spent fishing, and the fun and laughter she shared while playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Prevatte.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her son, Patrick Prevatte; her granddaughter, Michele Fowler and her husband Jason Fowler; her grandson, Nickolas Prevatte and his wife Julie Prevatte; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Noah Baughman, Maelynn Fowler, and Stella Fowler.

Judy's legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and loved so deeply. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her gentle presence, and the warmth she brought into every home she touched.

A viewing and service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29209, at 10:00 a.m., with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29229.
