Winnie Shull Obituary

Winnie Adeline Black Shull (Addy), 70, wife of Danny Edward Shull, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at their home.

Born in Prosperity, SC, Addy was the daughter of the late Joe Henry Black and Josie Rinehart Black. She was a graduate of Hollywood School's Class of 1973. She completed the Self Memorial Radiology program in Greenwood, SC and spent over 40 years working in CT and X-Ray. She proudly served the majority of her career at Lexington Medical Center.

Addy loved making her family members smile for pictures whenever she had the chance. She was known to have her camera ready to snap pictures. Throughout her life, she enjoyed baking wonderful cakes and desserts. She also had a green thumb and loved working in her yard.

Surviving alongside her husband is her daughter, Emily Shull Polatty (Caleb) of Saluda, SC; step-daughters, Danielle Shull Sims and Rebecca Shull Platt (Barrett) both of Lexington, SC; seven grandchildren, Brady Garrison Platt, Brooke Audrey Platt, Anna Kaye Sims, Ella Kate Platt, Jesse Daniel Sims, Lydia Adeline Polatty, and Tillman Caleb Polatty; two brothers, Wayne Black (Donna) and Henry Black of Saluda, SC, sister Elaine Able (Sidney) of Hartsville, SC; her siblings' children, Ben Able, Lauren Johnson, Will Black, and Dan Harrison; and many other nieces and nephews.

Addy was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Mildred Shull, and son-in-law, Terry Sims.

A funeral service will be held at St. David Lutheran Church at 11:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2026, with Rev. Greg Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral at 10:00 am at the church.
