Willie Williams Obituary

Willie Mae Williams passed unexpectedly after a brief hospital stay on September 29, 2025 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born in Dawson, Georgia on January 12, 1953, to Clara and Charlie Brown, Jr. The family moved to Albany, Georgia where she finished school. She worked as a nurse for many years before working at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. She then moved her family to Charleston, South Carolina where she went back to nursing at the Naval Shipyard. To be closer to her elderly parents, she moved back to Albany, Georgia and opened Wings & Things restaurant.

Willie Mae was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was a voracious reader, a keen crossword solver, and an avid music collector. She had a relationship with Christ, and even throughout her health challenges, she never lost her faith.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Williams; her parents: Clara and Charlie Brown, Jr.; her brothers: Charlie Gene Brown, Otis Clarence Brown, Wallace Brown, and Curtis Brown; and her sisters: Charlie Ruth Brown, Mary Sue Williams, and Alice Faye Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Trina Williams and Jasmine Williams and one son, Roderick Williams (Rhonda). Also, she is survived by her beloved grandchildren; Roderick Williams (Brianna), Imani Williams, Errin Baylis, Cameron Williams, Endia Baylis, and Jordan Williams.
