William Griffin Obituary

William "Bill" Edwin Griffin, 51, of Columbia passed away September 22, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1973 in Richland County to the late Jack J. Griffin and Billie D. Griffin. From a young age, Bill had a passion for sports and was extremely close to his twin brother, Jim. They were inseparable from the time they could both walk. He excelled at tennis and his dad often drove Bill and his brother to tennis tournaments all over the southeast. Bill also had a soft spot for animals and was frequently found caring for stray animals in the neighborhood. They quickly became family members, and on most evenings one of many cats were often found in his room, snuggled in his arms. Bill was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and received his law degree from Touro Law School in Central Islip, New York. Although he is no longer with us, Bill will never be forgotten. He is survived by his brother, Jim Griffin; his sister Christie Griffin (Dawn); Tasha Griffin (stepmother); two cousins, two aunts, and one uncle. He will be laid to rest at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC.
