Sara Palmer Obituary

Mrs. Sara Cooper Palmer, 73, of Blythewood, SC, died on Monday, September 8, 2025. Born on November 1, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Edward B. Cooper and Sara Louise Sharpe Cooper. Sara was born and raised in Blythewood, which always remained home in her heart. She worked in banking for over 20 years and then as the bookkeeper at Blythewood High School from the time the school opened in 2005 until her retirement. Sara was the definition of a family woman, who loved hosting and taking care of the ones she loved. Left to cherish Sara's memory is her husband, William Edward Palmer; daughter, Heather Palmer Steinwedel (Ryan) of Atlanta, GA; son, Matthew Andrew Edward Palmer of Lake Wylie, SC; brother, Thomas E. "Ed" Cooper (Gerri) of Blythewood, SC; sister-in-law, Cathie Cooper of Bowman, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and daughter of the heart, Sandra Rodriguez of Elgin, SC. Sara was preceded in death by her parents listed above; brothers, Robert "Bob" Cooper and Faye Kenneth "Kenny" Cooper; and sister-in-law, Jackie Cooper. A time of visitation will be held from 2 until 3 o'clock, Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC 29223. The graveside service will be held at 3:30 o'clock on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
