Deacon Ronnie Brand, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who peacefully transitioned from Labor to Reward on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on February 18, 1957, in Clarendon County, South Carolina, Ronnie was a devout individual who embraced his faith and community throughout his life.
Ronnie received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County, culminating at Walker Gamble High School. His faith was an integral part of his life; he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age while attending Manning Deliverance Temple. He eventually became an active member of Darlington Deliverance Temple, where he served as a trustee and was later ordained as Deacon Ronnie Brand. His commitment to his church community exemplified his faith and dedication.
Professionally, Ronnie made his mark as a skilled painter and landscaper. Through his craftsmanship, he beautified many family properties and left a legacy that will endure in the memories of those he served. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his dedication and care for the people in his life.
Ronnie was married to his family and cherished each moment spent with them. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, Godfather and friend, especially a father figure to his nephew, Timothy Joel Brand. He had a remarkable ability to forge connections with everyone he met, never encountering a stranger. His warm spirit and loving nature touched countless lives, and he will be remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving sisters of the house, Lovener McDowell and Mary Brand of Manning, SC, Everling Capers (Rosevelt) of Jacksonville, NC; brothers, Robert Brand (Mary Ann) of Denmark, SC, Bobby Brand (Marlina) of Manning, SC, Tony Brand (Sonya) of Manning, SC, and Dallas Brand of Orlando, FL, along with a host of other loving uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James Brand and Ethel McDowell Brand, and his brothers, James Brand and Billy Brand.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 1-5 PM at Samuels Funeral Home in Manning, SC. A Homegoing Celebration will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 12 PM at Wellsprings Deliverance Temple in Manning, SC, followed by interment at City of Manning Cemetery.
Deacon Ronnie Brand will be forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, and faith. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
