Dr. Ronald Lee Morris, 58, of
Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Born on January 28, 1967, in Richmond, Indiana, he is the son of Donald J. Morris and Rebecka Ann Livingston Morris of Richmond, Indiana. Dr. Morris received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and later earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry. He was currently employed at Folline Vision Center with offices in Camden and
Sumter, SC.
First and foremost, Ron was a family man completely devoted to his wife and daughters. He cherished every moment with them and was the best girl dad ever! Some of his favorite things were spending weekends at his house on Lake Wateree, boating, playing cards and board games with his girls, vacationing, and loving on all the family pets.
Known as "Ronny" to his parents, siblings and childhood friends, he is remembered for his great sense of humor, competitive spirit, genuine kindness and dependability. Ronny found his love for sports early, spending countless hours on the baseball diamonds with friends and family before becoming an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and Clemson Tigers. That same passion carried into his career as an optometrist, where he was deeply committed to caring for his patients.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife, Karen Morris, daughters, Ashley Morris (fiancé Garrett Lockett) of Commerce, GA and Hannah Morris of Charleston, SC, twin brother, Randy Morris (Angie) of Bolingbrook, IL; sisters, Laura Morris Janssen (Mike) of Incline Village, NV and Kristy Braun (Tim) of Truckee, CA as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, including special childhood friend, Kevin Necessary.
The funeral service for Dr. Morris will be held at 3 o'clock on Saturday, January 24th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Burial will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Rd, Elgin, SC.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 2 o'clock.
