Richard Chapella Obituary

Richard G. Chapella, 81, of Gilbert , South Carolina passed away July 31, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. He was born on November 13, 1943 in Youngstown , Ohio to George and Julia (Laska ) Chapella . Rich was an avid car lover as he worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube for 20 years. During that time, he opened and operated Tri Motors Fine Used Cars for over 50 years. Through those years he operated in Columbiana, Ohio and Gilbert, South Carolina. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, traveling and spending time with his beautiful wife JoAnn. Rich is survived by his devoted wife, JoAnn (Bloise) Chapella and their two sons Rich Chapella (Carlene) and Joe Chapella (Alisa). His four cherished grandchildren Cohan Chapella, McKayla Farrell (Chris), Carley Mahanna and Taylor Mahanna. One precious great granddaughter Ellie Farrell; and his sister Rosemarie Lisko. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Julia (Laska) Chapella; and his sister Marleen Regula. A private family service will be held at St. Paul's Waccamaw Methodist Church in Litchfield, South Carolina on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
