Paula Woodard Obituary
Paula is the sister of Jackie Woodard Nelson, and sister-in-law of Eddie Nelson, owners of Nelson's Funeral Home of Ridgeway, South Carolina.
Funeral services for Paula will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church of Columbia, 1609 Zion Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbia Cemetery, 9301 Wilson Blvd, Columbia, SC 29203.
The Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025, 7:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home.
Public viewing will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online at zionpilgrimbaptistcolumbia.org or donations can be made to Winthrop University.
The funeral service can be viewed on the church's Facebook page. Go to Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church - Columbia, South Carolina.

Paula and I met in college, and from that moment on, we shared a bond that lasted a lifetime. She wasn´t just a friend; she was like a sister - someone who knew me through every season of life. Through laughter and tears, growth and change, we were always there for each other. Rest in peace my friend.

Mrs. Woodard and I worked together at Richland Northeast High School. She was such a professional and poised teacher. She always greeted me with a smile and asked how I was doing. Her words were always encouraging and kind. I will definitely miss seeing her in the halls. May she rest in God's perfect peace.
