Patricia Surratt Obituary

Patricia Kay Surratt, 84, of Columbia, died Saturday, July 26, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine Hendrix Surratt. Pat worked at Tapp's Department Store and Stone Manufacturing. Pat was tall (6 ft.), slender and always perfectly dressed, personifying the Tapp's woman of her day. In her later years, Pat lived at Lexington Extended Care, where she was known as the door greeter, with a smile and pleasant greetings for other residents, staff and anyone who came to visit. She was fun and feisty, and always ready with a quick and funny comeback. She loved life and people, especially family. Pat will be greatly missed! Survivors include her four nieces, Denise Surratt Thompson (Terry) of Bryant, Arkansas, Jenien Surratt Carmichael (Ned) of Loris, South Carolina, Candice Surratt Allen and Crisden Surratt Mitchell both of Conway, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Hendrix Surratt and nephew Clyde Mitchel Surratt. Pat will be buried beside her parents in Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
