She went on to attend and complete Palmer Business School. She went to work at the Bank of Walterboro. She and Grover married April 3, 1960, and moved to Columbia in 1963. After her children were out of high school, she went to work for the SC Department of Revenue. Patsy enjoyed quilting, reading, traveling, and anything Jimmy Buffet. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their home in Tansi Village, near Beaufort, South Carolina. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in West Columbia. There she was a member of the United Methodist Women's group, the Quilters, and served on the Bereavement Committee for many years. Patsy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Anne Shuler and Gary Ferguson of Columbia; grandson, Christopher (Cassie) Coward of Simpsonville; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Blitch of Columbia; and four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Allura, Ashton, and Benji Coward; her sister, Lynn Steedly Rhode of Round O; brother-in-law, Robert (Gayle) Shuler of Bowman; sisters-in-law, Sandra Baughman and Sally Fogler of Orangeburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Grover, and her son, Kelvin Cleveland Shuler of Columbia. Our thanks and appreciation to Lutheran Hospice whose care and compassion guided us towards the end.
