Patricia Goodale Obituary

Patricia "Trisha" Smith Goodale, 83, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. Born on July 21, 1942, in Columbia, South Carolina, Trisha lived a full and joyful life centered around family, creativity, and a deep appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures of everyday living. Trisha found great joy in spending time with her loved ones, whether gathered at home or during cherished family trips to the beach. A talented artist, she expressed herself through oil paintings, acrylic drawings, and later in life through lovingly painted rocks that she shared with family and friends. She delighted in watching her grandchildren grow, and she was especially proud to become a great-grandmother to little Charlotte Alexandria Kent. Known for her keen eye on the weather - often able to predict approaching storms - Trisha was also an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and rarely missed watching a game. She loved her dogs dearly and could often be found outside, relaxing on her swing and admiring the view of the lake. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, whether cheering on her granddaughters in theater and sports or sharing laughter with her sisters and brother at Edisto Beach. She also treasured traveling and discovering new places, always curious and eager to experience more of the world around her. Above all, Trisha will be remembered for her loving heart, her artistic spirit, and the way she always stayed connected - taking genuine interest in every member of her family and the details of their lives. She is survived by her children, John Goodale, Jr., Michael Goodale, and Wendy Crowell; her grandchildren, Margo Hicks, Mickey Goodale, Makayla Goodale, Allison-Ann Crotwell, and Isabelle Crotwell; her great-granddaughter, Charlotte Alexandria Kent; and her siblings, Debra McClary, Jennifer Shaw, and Marvin Smith, Jr. She was predeceased by her parents, Marvin Smith, Sr. and Lois Smith, and her sister, Janice Boozer. A celebration of Trisha's life will be held at the beach, a place she dearly loved and where her family shared so many cherished memories together. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Breast Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
