Patricia Crooks Obituary

Patricia Hedgepath Crooks, 84, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Columbia, SC. She was born in Columbia on February 20, 1941, and was the son of the late Herbert Wilson Hedgepath and Norma Frances Walker. Patricia graduated from Eau Claire High School. She went on to spend over 30 years working with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. At retirement, she was a Forensic and Evidence Technician. Patricia loved spending time with family and friends. She was also loved by many and will be missed greatly. In her free time, Patricia enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid kayaker and enjoyed day trips to explore new places. She had a special love for animals. Especially dear to Patricia's heart was volunteering. She could often be found serving others in numerous places and ways. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brother Herbert "Mike" Hedgepath. She is survived by her niece, Hannah Price (Brent). At his time, no service is planned. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
