Oscar McNeese Obituary

Oscar Rudolph (Rudy) McNeese Jr. was born on August 3, 1960, in Savannah, GA and transitioned to the afterlife on August 18, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. As his father was a Senior Master Sergeant, he spent his childhood in many places throughout the world but returned to Douglas, GA for High School and graduated from Coffee County High School where he began his acting and theater interests. He married Cora Sheller on June 16,1984 and his first child, a daughter, was born in August 1984. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Valdosta State University in 1985 and became an accomplished Fortune 500 Software executive successfully building Enterprise and SMB software products moving to Texas, Florida, and finally South Carolina. He was often described as an all-around good person to work with, work for, or just be around. He had a great passion for his motorcycles, rebuilding a 1976 VW Bug and a Ford F100. He loved science fiction, supernatural shows (Buffy), Shakespeare plays, Casablanca, and having long conversations with all of his children about pretty much anything. He had a sense of humor that is just classic and enjoyed the lighthouse joke and "Who's on first" with Abbott and Costello. He loved theater and photography. Rudy was a loving husband, father, uncle, son, brother, and friend. He was predeceased by his mother Claudell Morgan Gifford, his father Oscar Rudolph McNeese Sr, and sisters Yvonne Garcia and Yvette McNeese. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Cora McNeese, three daughters, Elizabeth Nelson (Eric), Roxanne Garcia (Justin), and Jasmine McNeese, four sons, Mariano Vasquez (Alycia), TJ Whitlatch (Violet), Jesse McNeese (Leah), Jarod McNeese, and grandchildren Arabella, Hayden, Skylah, Ember, Aurora, Christopher, Jax, MaLeah, and Jonathon. He was an amazing man of great character who gave his full devotion to his family. He will be greatly missed, and his love will continue to be felt by all those who knew him. He is tinkering away in his dream garage somewhere in heaven. Thank you to our friends, family and community for your support. Per his wishes, Rudy will be cremated by South Carolina Cremation Society and honored privately by this family in the family home. Memorials may be sent to the family home.
