Nicholas Harbrecht Obituary

Nicholas "Nick" Raymond Harbrecht, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished member of the community, passed away January 6, 2026, at the age of 81 at his home in Lexington, South Carolina.

Born on July 23, 1944, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Nick was the son of Raymond Harbrecht and Jane Hengsen Harbrecht. He graduated from St. Paul Park High School in 1962. He then joined the Navy and studied electronics. He served on the submarines Cusk, Barb, and Spinax and traveled the world. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He later worked in construction and was a master electrician.

Those who knew Nick will remember his kindness, wry sense of humor, wisdom, work ethic, generosity, and God-fearing faith. He was a voracious reader who loved the outdoors but found his greatest joy in spending time with his family.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James and sister, Jacqueline.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gail, sons, Joel (Candace) and Joshua, and grandson, Elijah who will all miss him dearly.

When asked how he was feeling, Nick would always respond "Just right!". In his new heavenly home, we know that he is.

Always loved my Cuz Nick. He often marched to the beat of a slightly different drum. I liked and admired that about him.
Lots of great memories, all the way back to early childhood.
Nick was a man of God and a man of the Word. That´s a great combination nation!
