Nathaniel Bowman Obituary

Nathaniel Bowman was born December 22, 1945, in Estill, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late William Mikell and Ida May Bowman. He departed this life for eternal rest on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Winnsboro, South Carolina.

Nathaniel was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina. He served in the United States Army for nine (9) years, where he was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. After his service in the Army, he was employed as a welder until retirement.

Nathaniel was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Gussie Mae Robinson on January 8, 1968, with whom he spent many years of love and devotion before she went home to be with the Lord.

Mr. Bowman was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was also a member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars).

In addition to his parents, and wife Gussie, Nathaniel was also preceded in death by his sister, Evalena White.

Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Nathaniel are his loving daughters, Jacqueline Brigman of Winnsboro, SC, Kathy Evans and Nadine Bowman, both of Columbia, SC; sons, Marinoff Bowman and Nathaniel Michael Bowman, both of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren, Jacquina Greene of Rockhill, SC, Valeria Worthey and Mariah Bowman, both of Columbia.SC, Brandon Evans, Jeffrey Evans, Marcus Evans, Trence Fulton and Alston Brigman, all of Columbia, SC; fourteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Sidney (Tammy) Bowman; and sisters, Janie Redenburg and Peggy (Timothy) Wright, all of Columbia, SC; and a host of loving nephews, nieces and other loving relatives, and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
