Mitchell Miller Obituary

Mitchell Miller, 39, of Gaston, South Carolina, passed away on July 20, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1985, in Lexington, South Carolina, to Mitchell and Jane Miller. Known by many as "Scooter" or "Scoot," Mitch was a devoted father, loving son, loyal partner, and cherished friend. Mitch was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Tom Taylor and Michael "Mikey" Miller. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Haley Puckett; his mother, Jane Jeffers; and his father, Mitchell Miller, Sr. Mitch is also survived by his siblings: Melissa Taylor, Adam Taylor, Jason Whitaker, and Pee Wee Whitaker; his children, Halee, Chandler, Dalton, and Lainey Miller; his step-sons, Braylen and Eli Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Mitch took great pride in being a dad. He loved his children deeply and spoke of them often-his love for them was evident to all who knew him. A true outdoorsman, Mitch found peace in nature. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply being outside, he felt most at home under the open sky. However, his greatest passion was the game of pool. He was an active member of local pool leagues and proudly earned runner-up honors at the APA Nine Ball Championship in Las Vegas-an achievement he held close to his heart. In his younger days, Mitch could be found playing in the family pond, riding bikes, or getting into mischief playing hide-and-seek with his siblings. As he grew older, he became a jack-of-all-trades, working across several industries including electrical work, plumbing, framing, flooring, and HVAC. No task was too big or too small for Mitch-he met every challenge with skill and determination. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, big heart, and the strong bonds he shared with family and friends. Mitch's presence was a light in the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on July 27, 2025, from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on July 28, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington with Pastor David Spears officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to share stories, memories, and say their goodbyes to a man who left this world far too soon. Rest easy, Scooter. You'll always be in our hearts.
