Mildred Steslow Obituary

Mildred B. Steslow (Millie), 94, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Chapin SC, died on August 11, 2025. Born in West Mahanoy Township, PA, on March 4, 1931, to Martin and Mae (Evans) Olsen. Millie grew up in Frackville, PA and was a graduate of Frackville high school where she was a cheerleader. She met and married Leo Steslow of Frackville. She and Leo loved to dance, especially to big band music. In addition to raising four children of her own, Millie was a nanny and childcare worker for many years. She also kept her grandchildren when they were young and enjoyed traveling with the family on annual ski trips. She was a devout Catholic and prayed and attended church faithfully. Millie was an avid reader and enjoyed watching westerns on television. Baking for family and friends, especially her pies, gave Millie great enjoyment. Millie is survived by her four children, Linda Higgins, Leo (Karen) Steslow, Joann (Jim Grove) Goff, and Douglas (Linda) Steslow, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leo, and a grandson, Brandon Steslow. A Celebration of Life service for Mildred will be held at a later date in Florida where she will be buried with her late husband in Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Memories and messages may be left on her tribute page. Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to serve the Steslow family.
