Mildred Moore Obituary
Mildred "Billie" Hermalene Moore, 94, wife of the late Rev. Lester Pearson Moore, of Hopkins, SC, "Left here Shouting" on Sunday, July 27, 2025, to be with her Heavenly Father. Born on February 28, 1931, in Hardeeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Herman Cook and Maude Thelma Prosser Cook. Mrs. Moore's life completely revolved around serving God, being a devoted pastor's wife. As a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, her family was very near and dear to her heart. She supported her husband as he founded Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church. She played integral roles in the church, including establishing the Sarah Moore Ladies Circle, teaching the Adult Sunday School class, she was involved in"everything" that had to do with the church. Mrs. Moore always considered the church people her family and affectionately referred to them as, "My People!" She will be remembered for her positive attitude, giving her love unconditionally to all, and excellent baking skills. Survivors include her children, Rhonda Moore Huggins of Marion, SC, Rev. Randy Byron Moore (Mandy) of Hopkins, SC, and Ranee Moore of Pamplico, SC. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Roger Alan Moore, Jr. (April), Matthew Lowery (Michelle), Jeffrie Gray (Alexia), Morgan Nealy (Angalena), Jordanne Ardis (Dalton), Julya Hudson (Deontae), Caiman Welch, Joshua Hendrix (Justine) and Jordan Frye (Shane), 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as two brothers, Herman Eugene Cook and Donald Raeford Cook, and many beloved nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Roger Alan Moore, Sr., her sisters, Eunice Claudette Evans and Rita Faye Kern, and a brother, Larry Van Cook. The funeral service for Mrs. Moore will be held at 2 o'clock, Friday, August 1st at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church, 920 Horrell Hill Rd, Hopkins, SC 29061, with Rev. Randy B. Moore and Rev. Glenn Frye officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive guests prior to the service in the church sanctuary beginning at 1 o'clock.
