Melvin Fisher Obituary

Melvin "Bud" Carol Fisher, 85, died on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Bud was born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina on April 15, 1940, to the late Robert Carroll Fisher and Bessie Alexander Fisher. He was preceded in death by his brothers, J. Marshall Fisher, Bobby Morris Fisher, and sisters, Virginia Fisher Moss, Reba Fisher McEachern, and Linda Fisher Sorrell. He is survived by one sister, Doris Fisher Wright. He is also survived by his wife of 67 years, Thelma Lee McMurry Fisher, three children, Randy Fisher (Nadine), Pam Fisher Goodale, and Tim Fisher (Edie), seven grandchildren, Lee Gurganious, Lacey Segars, Lindsey Fisher, Alan Fisher, Amanda Gurganious, Brooke Proctor, and Sean Fisher. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Hunter Gurganious, Raygan Segars, Alyia Grosh, Connor Gurganious, Natalie Gurganious, Logan Segars, Aubrey Grosh, and Bently Grosh as well as one great-great grandchild, Cortlyn Gurganious. Memorials can be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 1, 2025, at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Dr, Columbia, SC 29206.
