McGee Still Obituary

McGee Still, born May 12, 1934, in Barnwell, SC, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025 surrounded by family. A devoted family member and lifelong South Carolinian, McGee lived a full and meaningful life rooted in the places and people he loved most.
A proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, McGee valued education and carried that pride throughout his life. His connection to his home state remained strong from his early years in Barnwell to his final days in Columbia.
McGee shared his life with his wife of 70 years, Sara Still. He is remembered with love by his children, Michael Still, Steve Still, Susan Still Fusco, Summer Still; grandson, Blake Fusco and son-in-law, Pete Fusco. McGee also leaves behind his sister, Velrue Sandifer; lifelong friends, Jennings Owens, James Fowke and other friends; and relatives too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin J. Still and Viola Croft Still; his sisters, Margie Still and Connie Jean Stroman DeGraw.
McGee found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed visiting both the mountains and the coast of the Carolinas, often choosing to travel the scenic backroads between them. At home, he could frequently be found outdoors tending to the yard or planning his next concrete project-endeavors that reflected both his appreciation for nature and his hands on spirit.
Funeral services at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, SC have not been finalized.
