Linda Holliday Obituary

Linda Davis Holliday, 81, of Garden City, South Carolina, went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2025. Linda was born on March 11, 1944, in Columbia, SC, to Lewis Parker Rivers and Thelma Rivers Truesdale. Linda was a proud graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1962. She spent her life rooted in love for her family, her community, and her passions - most notably gardening and hosting unforgettable Thanksgiving gatherings that brought family and friends together around her table. Linda's greatest joy was her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Mitchum, and her eldest son Bryan Davis. She is survived by her siblings, Judi Tillman-Morton, Betty Hoenig, and Barry Rivers. Also surviving are her children, Bret Davis (Lorianne), Brandon Davis (Linda), Brad Davis (Alex), and Gina Davis; her cherished grandchildren, Rae Davis, Zach Davis (Sydney), John Davis (Shawnee), Anna Davis Nichols (Luke), Andrew Davis, Ben Davis, Brody Davis, and Avery Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Harlyn Davis, Huck Davis, and Parker Davis. She was a constant source of strength, kindness, and wisdom to them all. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 19th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m., and burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Her spirit will live on in the memories she helped create and the lives she so deeply impacted.
