Leon Smith Obituary

Neil was my best friend......even after he and his family moved from Arkansas back to South Carolina. He had come to Hope, Arkansas with a group of men to start a steel mill in Hope. My family started building our home near the Hope Country Club. One evening, my wife & I went out to check on the progress of our home construction. When we arrived, we found Neil, his wife, Veda, and their two beautiful daughters, Kathy and Susan, standing on our home's concrete foundation. That began a lifelong friendship with the Smiths.
Even when we they moved back to South Carolina, we continued
our close friendship. Neil's wife Veda, & my wife Linda's maiden names was Jester. There was no doubt that they were related!! Saying goodbye to Neil is very hard! I will see he, Veda, and Linda again in Heaven.

Neil was a great Christian and generous loving man and our friend. We will miss him as long as we live. We will keep his dinner table alive in his honor. We will remember his beloved Clemson Tigers. Never forget Neil and his Veda. See you one day again buddy.
