Joann Jumper Obituary

Joann Lee Jumper, 83, of West Columbia, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, January 25, 2026, at Oakleaf Assisted Living Facility in Lexington, South Carolina, following complications from pneumonia.

Joann was born August 24, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late James and Eva Rogers.

She spent most of her adult life in the Columbia, South Carolina area with her beloved husband, James Jumper, to whom she was married for 30 years prior to his death in 2017.

Joann retired after a number of years of service as an accounting clerk at Ben Satcher Ford in Columbia, South Carolina.

Her life was devoted to her Christian faith. A faithful follower of Christ, Joann centered every aspect of her life on her relationship with the Lord. She served her church communities for many years, most recently as a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce, South Carolina, and previously at Springdale Baptist Church in West Columbia, South Carolina. She taught Sunday School, led Bible studies, and volunteered faithfully, touching many lives through her unwavering faith and dedication.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Christian (wife, Kristyn) and their children, Adeline, Haley, and James; Austin; and Samantha (husband, Mason Bourgeois) and their son, Matthew.

She is also survived by her devoted friend of 30 years, Regina Mock; her nieces, Rona Wilson and Ava Kramer; and by extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29073. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Eddie Coakley of Trinity Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, South Carolina.
