Jeremiah McLeod Obituary

Jeremiah McLeod, age 67, of Columbia, South Carolina, affectionally known as "Bodean" entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2025. Born on June 23, 1958, in Fort Pierce, Florida, Jeremiah was one of several children born to the late Annie Mae McLeod Shaw and Alonzo Williams. He was raised in a loving home rooted in faith, family, and integrity-values that guided his path throughout his life. In his early years, he moved to Sumter, South Carolina, where he spent much of his childhood and formative years. Jeremiah graduated from Sumter High School class of 1976. After graduating, he spent time working at Crescent Tools, gaining valuable experience that helped shape his work ethic and discipline. He later joined Neal Construction Company in Sumter, where he proudly displayed his many talents and versatility, becoming known for his craftsmanship and dependable spirit, as he also spent years traveling and modeling. After relocating to Columbia, South Carolina, Jeremiah built a distinguished career as a master painter, renowned for his exceptional skill, precision, and artistry. His ability to transform spaces with expert technique and meticulous attention to detail earned him great respect in the trade. Painting was not just a job for Jeremiah-it was a passion and a craft that showcased his dedication to quality and excellence. Alongside this, he dedicated years of service to Stuckey Construction and Platinum Package, where his commitment to service created lifelong relationships. Jeremiah is survived by his children: Crystal McLeod, Brandy (Jeremy) Parker, Jeremiah Norland McLeod, and Serenity McLeod, and those who were special to his heart, Kenya Barrett, Marcus Green, Marva Green, Quincy (Angelica) Boykin, Cederick Geter, and Cecil Geter; and his grandchildren, Kaidynn Parker, Gianna Garland, Janiyah McLeod, all of whom brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his cherished companion, Candi Thomas, along with her children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Roosevelt Shaw, Julia Shaw, Pinky Wilson, and Harriett Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae McLeod Shaw and Alonzo Williams, his siblings, Bobby Shaw, Brenda Sims, Earl McLeod; and Esau Green. Jeremiah's life was a reflection of grace, strength, and steadfast faith. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit remains in the hearts of all who knew him.
